It is so exciting
when small groups reach out and participate in a P.E.A.C.E. Service
Opportunity. What is P.E.A.C.E.? Here are just a few examples
of small group P.E.A.C.E. service opportunities. All P.E.A.C.E. is local because we focus on working through the local church. However there are local and global opportunities. Here are just a few.
P – Plant Churches
PEACE Conference at Highlands Fellowship: volunteer to serve pastors from United States and every nation
as
they are trained to plant churches & witness to un-reached people groups.

Bristol Recovery Road for women: donate to help women go through a 9 month course to help them
transition

A- Assist the Poor
Haven of Rest: partner

Backpacks for Kids: pack food for kids to take home on the weekends who would otherwise

Food Pantry/Clothes Closet: help prepare and/or distribute food and clothes to needy in our
community.

C- Care for the Sick
Hospital Ministry: simply be there for someone or his/her family when they are in the

Nursing Home: volunteer
and/or take care kits to your local nursing home.
Cook a meal for an individual or family who is sick, recovering from
surgery, recently had a baby, etc.
Make “Get Well” cards for kids in a local children’s hospital
E- Educate the next
Generation
Appalachian Sustainable Development: donate and/or help teach farmers, children, and youth how to sustain themselves with local foods and farmers markets. Provide training to

Volunteer at your library or local school to help a child learn how to
read.
Teach classes or tutor those who are learning English as a second
language.
Contact a local school principal to find out how you can best serve
their school
Mow the grass or clean up the yard for your neighbor
Call your church and ask what their greatest need is, and then offer to
help with it.
Offer to babysit for a neighbor so that they can have a date night.
Contact the local fire and
police department to find out how you can bless the servicemen and women in
your community.
Clean up trash at a park, beach, or river.
Ask your mayor or a city official about your community’s greatest needs
and what you could do to address them.
Pay for people to do their laundry at a local Laundromat
Buy a few bags of groceries and deliver to someone in need
