Our Mission and Vision

Leading everyone into a deeper relationship with Jesus by continually loving JUST ONE.

The Great Commandment

"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart...soul and...mind.'  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it:  'Love your neighbor as yourself.'  All the law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."  - Matthew 22:37-40

The Great Commission

"Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." - Matthew 28:19-20

Creating a church where imperfect people love to belong.

Get Connected

Get connected by attending ONE 01.  If you are interested in learning more about Highlands Fellowship this session is for you. In this basic introduction to our church family, you will enjoy hearing the story of Highlands Fellowship and some of the amazing things God is doing!  You’ll also learn about our beliefs on salvation, our statements of purpose, our strategy and structure and our vision for the future.

You Were Formed for God’s Family

The basis for our church family is from Ephesians 2:19, which says, “You are a member of God’s very own family and you belong in God’s household with every other Christian.” There are three keys found in this verse that we believe are the foundation for belonging to a church:
  1. The church is a family
  2. God expects each of us to be a member of a family
  3. A Christian without a church family is an orphan
During the ONE 01 session you will have opportunities to ask questions about the church and become a part of our family!  ONE 01 is typically offered once per month at all campuses.

Step Up

You were created to become like Christ

Growing in Christ is one of the most wonderful and challenging things a Christian can do. One of Christ’s final commands was to tell his followers to “…go and make disciples…” (Matthew 28:19). Throughout scripture, we are encouraged to go beyond the basics – to GROW in Christ. In other words, we are to develop spiritual disciplines/habits as we become true disciples of Jesus. To help you develop these habits and grow spiritually, we offer TWO 01.  In this session we encourage participation in or hosting of a Small Group, Bible study, prayer and tithing. We also regularly offer special events and/or classes to assist in your spiritual growth.
We strongly believe that to be all God wants us to be we must make some basic commitments.  By attending TWO 01, we learn how to develop habits of spiritual discipline in our lives which build our faith and prayer life. Our understanding of God’s Word raises the level of our relationship with other Christians.
If you have been a Christian for many years or are a brand new believer just beginning your walk, this session is for you. TWO 01 is held on a regular basis and is open to those that have completed ONE 01 (all sessions build on one another).

Make A Difference

You were shaped for serving God

Ministry is the heart of the Christian life and you can make a difference!  We must follow Christ’s example of service. Matthew 20:28 says, “…just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Because of this example set by Jesus, we encourage every member and attender of Highlands to be involved in some sort of ministry. Thankfully, function follows form in ministry. How God made each of us determines what He intends for us to do. God has uniquely shaped each individual for a specific ministry. Through THREE 01 and the various ministries available at Highlands, there is a way for you to become involved and be a part of what God has called you to do.
At Highlands every member of the church is a minister.  This is what THREE 01 is all about. Through the S.H.A.P.E. process, you’ll learn how God can use your Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality and Experience to minister to others in need.

The focus of THREE 01 is to help you find your S.H.A.P.E.

S – Spiritual Gifts – Spiritual Gifts are special abilities God gave you when you started following Him.  God gives us these gifts to build up our church family and reach out to the world with Christ’s love.
H – Heart – God gives each of us a unique passion for particular activities, subjects and circumstances. God uses those things we feel deeply about to show us where we can serve without quickly burning out.
A – Abilities – You have abilities, given to you before you accepted Christ, that God can use. Those abilities will help you in ministry.
P – Personality – God can use your personality. God can use all of us, whether we’re extroverts or introverts; whether we enjoy routine or variety.
E – Experiences – God has placed a multitude of experiences in your life to help mold you for ministry. God can use many of our experiences in our background to help heal hurts in our church and in our community.
By attending THREE 01, determining your S.H.A.P.E., and meeting with a ministry guide, you will complete the discovery process for the way God has uniquely designed you to serve in ministry.
THREE 01 is held on a regular basis and registration is open to all members who have completed sessions ONE 01 and TWO 01.

Reach Out

You were created for a mission

Just as God created you with a unique S.H.A.P.E. for serving within the church.  God created you for a unique mission. God has been working since the fall of Adam and Eve to bring people back to Him. He is working everywhere. Your mission is to simply step up and share what Jesus has done in your life to the people who God puts in your path. God will do the rest.
As a Christian, being on mission for Him is not optional. We are commanded to do it throughout scripture. We are to develop an awareness of what God is doing in the people around us and get equipped with some simple tools to share our stories of God’s work with them.
In FOUR 01 we talk about your life mission and how God planned that mission long before you were born! We talk about how fulfilling your mission brings glory to God. We will also discuss how your primary task in life is to fulfill that mission!
In session FOUR 01 you’ll discover your life mission and how you can be a part of God’s plan to reach out to the world. This class will help you:
  • Develop a personal perspective of the Gospel message
  • Develop your personal story of how God has worked in your life
  • Build confidence in sharing your story
  • Understand how you can Reach Out locally and globally.
FOUR 01 is broken up into four distinct parts:
  • In Part 1 we will talk about why God created us and Jesus’ mission on earth and why that matters to you.
  • In Part 2 we will talk about your testimony and how to share that with others and lead them to receive Christ.
  • In Part 3 we will learn about becoming “fishers of men!” We will learn how to spiritually fish and how people come to Christ. You will learn about building a bridge of friendship with others.
  • In Part 4 learn how to become a world class Christian.
FOUR 01 is held on a regular basis and registration is open to all members who have completed sessions ONE 01,  TWO 01 and THREE 01,

Love God

You Are Made To Love God

We all worship something or someone. At its core, worship is a response. Scripture tells us to “worship the Lord with gladness…” (Psalm 100:2). True worship should be a response to God for who He is, for what He has done and for what He continues to do. At Highlands, we strive to create an environment where people can encounter God and respond to Him. Our worship services involves culturally-relevant music and casual environments alongside a spirit of authenticity. You will leave energized and refreshed by our practical messages and uplifting music. Come check it out and experience it for yourself.
